Chihuahua

Location

Chihuahua is located in northern Mexico and has a surface of 247, 938 squared kilometers being the largest state in the country, its surface is a little larger than the United Kingdom.
It borders at the north with the states of New Mexico and Texas (USA), west to the states of Sonora and Sinaloa, Durango to the south and with Coahuila at the east.
The State of Chihuahua is divided into 67 municipalities. The capital has the same name, Chihuahua, and Juárez is the most populated city located on the border with El Paso, Texas.
The city of Chihuahua is considered the second best city to invest nationwide. 14 961 companies are now operating in the state.
According to the study of competitiveness of the Mexican cities, conducted by the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CERT), Chihuahua ranks second as the most competitive in the country. That is why Governor César Duarte Jáquez is looking to trigger investment and competitiveness in the state.   

Industrial Development

 

The Industrial development in the State of Chihuahua is based on industrial groups. They are six, the groups that generate more than 300,000 jobs in 406 established plants. Also, there are four new areas of opportunity within the industrial technological development is where the manpower is the most qualified.
The six clusters are:
- Electronics and Telecommunications, Automotive and Auto Parts,  Preparation, Food and Agribusiness, Forest and Furniture, Construction materials and mining

The four areas of opportunity include: Aerospace, Appliances, Information Technology,  Biotechnology and Mining.
